WORK EXPERIENCE: Songhai Rivers State Development Initiative, Songhai Farms and Holiday Resort, Nigeria. 11/2014 – 10/2016 (Business Development General Manager) Songhai Rivers State development initiative is a wealth creation and wealth distribution platform of the Rivers State Government, with special focus on sustainable agro and agro-allied business chain. It also serves as the UN subsahara Africa centre for excellence and a vehicle for the implementation of related MDGs. Supervise and manage the migration of the Initiative from a social enterprise to a commercial venture. Increase revenue, reduce cost and improve efficiency, and train team while functioning as a key member and participant in all phases and aspects of the business development, sales and marketing drive of the Initiative. Ensure the development of a competitive product line and creation of new services. Create and establish sustainable business relationships and bring onboard key development partners in line with the new drive of the Initiative. Create and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) conducting and holding daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly department meetings to review all statistics and results as a whole department as well as individual. Function as primary contact person (Portfolio Manager) and interact daily with select clientele regarding new and existing business opportunities. The combined numbers of trainees in these contracts was over 1,500 people. Set-up and maintained a database of over 40,000 smallholder farmers for input and output chain reactions in the dynamics of demand and supply for agro and agro-allied products and services. Tremendously improved efficiency and saved costs, increased sales and increased revenue. Expanded and improved quality of service and increased patronage in the hospitality and tourism department and improved occupancy and tourism from 7% and 20% to 75% and 80% on average, respectively. Created a Corporate-Social-Responsibility channel for the local host communities, with which the initiative gained a better relationship and cooperation. Moved the finances of the Initiative from a negative bank balance to an excess of 500 million naira in revenue over a period of eight months and as well reduced cost by over 50%.
