I am a talker and a writer. A linguist and an engineer. A loving husband and a massive geek.

What I am not is an experienced freelancer. Offline jobs got me through a decade of 'adult' life, but with two more mouths to feed now I am looking forward to gaining experience and doing work in the number of fields I'm all proficient at.

I can write you an immersive story or a handy piece of reliable software in C or Python. I can get any reasonable text translated to and from Russian, English or Chinese in a very short time.

I have 7 years of academic experience in the fields of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Imaging, with published papers on 3D Medical Visualization and Brain-Computer Interfaces.

I also have reasonable experience in the field of Digital Camera Optics and Image Quality Engineering and would be glad to consult on any matters involving Camera CCD and CMOS Sensors, fixed iris lens, AAA and Dewarp algorithms and Image Quality in general.

Finally, as a man who never passed a good side project, I have:

a.) 2 years of experience as a System Administrator for a decentralized business network

b.) 3 years of experience as EFL/ESL teacher in China for a wide range of proficiency levels and ages: from pre-school to university levels, as well as tutoring for TOEFL and IELTS test applicants.

c.) Numerous personal, fan-based and commercial English-Russian, Russian-English and Chinese-English translation projects, including CVs, fiction and non-fiction, technical documentation, medical papers and so on. The ones I'm especially proud of are translations of various tabletop RPG rulebooks into Russian.

d.) Half-a-lifetime of experience in public speaking and MCing in both Russian and English.
