In 2020, like many of us, I was starting to feel lost. I recently graduated and had no idea what the future would look like and then early news about the virus was making its way into Canada. My https://www.instagram.com/emrysbookshelf/ Instagram account became my outlet during the year to share my passions which has now turned into this beautiful website to hold all my thoughts and work in one place.
I also was dedicated to learning more skills and to figure out a way to establish myself in an industry, leading me to the https://pros.educ.queensu.ca/certificates/EDIT. This certificate is meant for professional editors in the industry and I was warned that this would be difficult. However, the courses were amazingly done and the Professors and peers were very insightful on the industry and their experiences. I was able to build on already established skills, receive plenty of tools and resources, and I was reassured very quickly that I was heading in the right direction with my compassionate approach to writing and editing.

In August of 2020 I received a job listing for a remote copywriter position and began working in September. This program is dedicated to helping small business owners during Covid and has been the most rewarding experience in my career so far.
