Emma Della Rocca

I am a fourth year student in Western University's Media, Information and Technoculture program working towards a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree with Honours Specialization and a certificate in Digital Communications. I am passionate, hard-working and self-motivated with broad interests from fashion to marketing and photography. I am a strong writer and graphic designer with both practical and creative skills and am not afraid of any challenge.

As a senior media student, I have had the privilege of gaining extensive experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, video editing and web design. More specifically, I have had experience both working on and managing marketing teams of up to 25 people on my faculty’s student council over the last three years. As the coordinator, I was responsible for running weekly team meetings to create and roll out weekly content (videos, social media posts, graphics) in a professional and timely manner. In this role, I honed my technical skills in content creation, leadership and collaboration, as I was responsible for giving a voice to each team member's uniquely creative visions while remaining on brand and within set content deadlines. On a personal note, I run a fashion and lifestyle blog on Instagram (@shelooksleft), having grown my community to nearly 1000 followers in under a year. Through this experience, I have become well-versed in content creation, storytelling, personal branding, partnerships and digital marketing.

In summer 2020, I worked as a freelance web designer, helping a new business build their brand image online and gain traction with clients through a carefully curated brand experience. Through this role I have gained extensive experience in web design, logo creation using Adobe Suite and Search Engine Optimization, launching the page to #1 on Google within the week. Working with established businesses and executives in this role has greatly strengthened my communication skills and my ability to work quickly and efficiently on short timelines.

As both a student and employee, I am very communicative, detail-oriented, organized and creative. I prioritize excellence in each role or task that I undertake and I always ensure I am bringing a fresh, unique and honest perspective to the table.
