As a psychology graduate, I have always been passionate about helping people and solving problems. I have spent the majority of my career in patient-facing and customer-facing roles, where I have developed strong communication and problem-solving skills.
In my previous role, I worked at a busy hospital where I was the first point of contact for patients and members of the public seeking information and support. I managed the trust helpline, which involved handling a high volume of calls/emails and responding to queries and concerns from patients and their families in a timely manner. I also trained and line-managed Band 2 Family Liaison staff across wards, ensuring they had the skills and knowledge necessary to provide excellent customer service. I believe my interpersonal skills and empathy are what allowed me to excel in this role.
In addition, I was the team lead for patient feedback across three hospital sites, which involved collecting and analysing feedback from patients and their families to identify areas for improvement. Once we had collected feedback, I led the analysis and interpretation of the data, whilst navigating a new online trust database. This involved identifying common themes and trends, as well as pinpointing specific areas where we could improve our services. I worked closely with department leaders across three hospital sites to develop and implement action plans based on our findings.
Communication was a big part of my role. I regularly presented our findings and recommendations to senior leadership, as well as to front-line staff, to ensure that everyone was aware of the feedback we were receiving and the steps we were taking to address it. I believe my ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues from all areas is down to my friendly nature and active listening skills. Overall, my time as team lead for patient feedback was incredibly valuable as it allowed me to use my analytical skills and passion for helping others to make a real difference to the lives of our service users.
I have experience working remotely as an online tutor, which taught me how to be self-motivated and helped me to develop strong organisational and time-management skills - both of which are essential for remote work. I also have the ability to work efficiently under pressure - my time as an Assistant Psychologist supports this as I had to work largely independently on an intense project with a very tight deadline, my attention to detail and organisational skills were what allowed me to excel in this.
Working as a Content Creator, I am responsible for researching, creating, and scheduling content for client social media accounts. This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. For this role I utilise skills such as content strategy development, research, writing and editing, social media management, time management and trend awareness.
