Portfolio
My professional experience has largely been comprised of working on proprietary software, which I am
not able to showcase or include in an online portfolio. However, I can provide a description of the projects I
worked on, and in some cases have included publically available screenshots or links.
Colibri Group (08/17 to 02/19)
I worked on the Elite-to-Common project, which overhauled Colibri’s main subsidiary website and
incorporated new company acquisitions. One of the tasks I performed for this project was converting the
company’s legacy site into a new WordPress website. To this end, I created HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
designs based on mock-ups. The website needed to be easy to modify through WordPress, mobile
responsive, and able to support multiple browsers, including IE11. To complete this work, I used a specific
development process:
First, I would participate in one or more stakeholder meetings to discuss the needs driving the
proposed change and the best ways to satisfy them.
After an agreement about the site was reached, the UX developer and I would give time estimates for
the changes and create two tickets (one for the mock-ups and one for the development of the site).
Once the UX designer finished the mock-ups, I would use an API to collect all the information needed
for the changes and reach out to one of our content creators, who would modify the information as
needed. I would design the layout (taking into consideration a mobile mock-up if given) and ensure all
standards are met across browsers. If a mock-up for mobile was not provided, I ensured that the website
looked good on a mobile platform while still keeping a similar design. For all designs, we considered
scalability and the ability for the design to be reused by any of the other 7 company subsidiaries. If a plugin
was modified in the process of creating the site, we ensured that the plugin was able to be used between all
the subsidiaries and that any element that might need to be changed by them was easy to customize.
One of the final pages designed through this process can be seen at:

At Colibri, I also did the following:
Used Jira along with an agile development cycle to manage different project tasks and ensure that
timelines were met
Created documentation for projects in the form of comments in the code, readme files, and videos
Maintained and enhanced legacy WordPress plugins, 3rd party plugins, and a custom company theme
Set up and modified WordPress database tables using MySql and PHPMyAdmin
Set up application-level package manager systems Composer, Gulp, and Grunt
Integrated code with Restful APIs
Performed all migration of the website to a new hosting provider, including setting up the site database,
transferring documents, creating a dev, to stage, to live workflow, setting up different environments in
Git Version Control, and installing and modifying needed software
Presented code enhancements in companywide meetings
Thomson Reuters (07/16 to 08/17)
I maintained an internal e-learning site used by 9,000 employees from our North America, Asia, and
Europe teams called Thomson Reuters FrontLine Learning. While I no longer have access to the internal site,
here is a list of the tasks I performed:
Designed and maintained WordPress-based informational standing kiosks for the company’s locations in
Asia, using both remote software and standing kiosk hardware. The requirements for the kiosks
included an API-based list of upcoming events and a selection of videos, which had to be easy to add by
the content creators.
Created a video playlist to display content for users
Conceptualized and created a ticket system for bugs and requests for our content creator teams in
North America and Europe. The tool was very similar to project management tools and inspired by Jira
and Asana.

Added search functionality to our video catalog
Designed a pool system with the help of TotalPoll Pro plugin
Improved employees’ educational success rate by improving the way courses are organized, eliminating
bugs, and restructuring the learning site
Managed project tasks and timelines in projects involving an international team
Performed Full-Stack development on a WordPress eLearning site, from an MySQL database and 3rd
party data storage to the front-end HTML, CSS, JS and JQuery
Added new site features using PHP in plugins such as ToolSet, API plugins, and SMTP email plugins
Tutored content creators in new functionalities on the site
Evaluated 3rd party WordPress plugins, created reports to help the team with purchasing decisions,
assisted in contract negotiations with vendors, and made the final decision in purchasing multiple 3 rd
party software programs
Performed development and testing on computers in different places around the world
Used Iframes to present site content in 3rd party sites and received API calls from 3rd party sites
Designed responsive websites using JS, JQuery, Bootstrap, WordPress Plugins, and CSS code
REIBlackBook (01/16 to 06/16)
REIBlackBook is a SaaS company that offers software solutions for real estate investors and small
business owners. While I don’t have access to the software, I have included some screenshots related to
some of the work I performed.
I created an automatic process to import real estate listings from third-party websites. This new feature
allowed users to upload csv files containing search results from popular real estate sites (Zillow, Trulia,
etc.) to their account. The search results were also auto-populated in multiple fields, saving the user the
time required to add them manually, which improved retention rates. This screenshot shows the
imported information:
I also designed a feature to allow users to create a map through the use of the Google Maps API
showing the locations of the houses they are analyzing. This screenshot shows a generated map:

Some of my other tasks included:
Created white-label sites that generated over $100,000 in the form of yearly B2B contracts
Reduced the time required for our customers to create sites by adding drag-and-drop site building
functionality, which enhanced customer satisfaction and reduced weekly customer calls
Took charge in creating PHPUnit testing modules to test small code components, and in performing
cross-browser, responsive testing
Conducted API calls to 3rd party software companies, handled packages in JSON and XML, and made
AJAX calls to the MySql database to automatically update information in the local databases
Worked using Git version control with a Scrum Agile Methodology using JIRA
Developed mobile responsive web applications using Bootstrap, JS, and a specific responsive CSS code
Used Redux and React to add custom search features
Developed on an MVC model using a MySql database, PHP, Phalcon, Joomla, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript,
JQuery, and AJAX
Assisted clients with bug related tickets, used Jing to record tutorial videos for clients, and helped clients
make changes to their site using a custom-made CMS
Miss Terios (08/2012 to 07/2014)
I designed a one-page website which was cross-browser compatible. The site included a jQuery
accordion and used the Google Maps API. The site has since been taken down, but I still have an early
version in my records, which is included with the permission of the site owner:

Performed search engine optimization through the use of Google Analytics and use of keywords
Creating marketing material and managing the boutique’s social media
Improved appointment tracking and reduced call volume by creating an online appointment system and
training the team in its use
