I am the above-named person, I am currently an Advocacy and Communications Officer at the
Commission on Administrative Justice. I am a communications and advocacy practitioner with
experience spanning eight years, and combine a strong development communication background
and experience in Communication, Community Empowerment and Public Education. I have
assisted in designing and overseeing implementation of communication programmes, as well as
development of strategies/policies to govern communication I am a member of the East African
Communication Association (EACA) and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK). My goal
is to contribute to positive change in management of communications programmes that focus on
social justice, human rights, governance, public participation, access to information and
consequently impact communities positively.

WORK EXPERIENCE
June 2015- To date: Advocacy and Communications Officer- The Commission on Administrative
Justice (Office of the Ombudsman)
Responsibilities
Monitoring media and keep tabs with coverage of issues on administrative justice to inform
programming, monitoring also enables the Commission to identify issues that fall within its
mandate. through this, the commission initiates a number of cases suo moto (own motion).
Tracking coverage of the Commission and issues of administrative justice in electronic, print
and social media platforms.
Supporting in designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of advocacy and
communication programmes.
Assisting in the documentation of programme evidence and use it to support the
implementation of advocacy and communication plans.
Documenting the Commission’s achievements, lessons learned and good practice from
programmes and ensure the appropriate packaging for different audiences.
Assisting in the preparation of information, education and communication materials such as
e-newsletters, promotional materials (posters, banners, visual material, documentaries and
sms broadcasts.
Implementation of public awareness civic education and outreach programmes
Developing content for the Commission’s website and social media.
Assisting in preparation of press releases and organising press conferences.
Editing of reports and articles as well as photographs and videos.

Duties
