Having graduated from the Charles Rennie Mackintosh School of Art with a masters in design, I moved to Australia where I worked for several leading ad agencies before setting up my own firm in the early 90s, the start of a very enjoyable and rewarding 30 year journey. Today I am keen to apply my skills in new pastures. My experience covers a wide variety of industries and sectors both private and public. A focus on healthcare marketing has armed me with an in depth knowledge of the compliance and regulatory obligations marketers face in targeting clinical audiences. I specialise in brand articulation - in finding a brand's 'why'. To that end I have developed many successful brands whose ongoing communications enjoy greater consistency and cohesion thanks to the establishment of a core reference point at the time of their birth (or rebirth in certain cases). I work extremely well in team settings where I collaborate with digital, channel planning, and account service personnel to deliver effective comms and campaigns. I am dedicated to cognitively stimulating, 'human' forms of communication - making audiences think is, I believe, the most effective means by which we can make them act. I look forward to using the skills I've earned in helping a brand identify, formalise, and leverage a unique proposition. Where a unique proposition does not exists, I believe it is important to find a 'sentiment', a value or belief the brand can use to tell the world its story.
