When I was 15, I wanted to be a pro-windsurfer and succeeded at the bottom of the ranks.
At 23, I wanted to work in the entertainment industry in NYC and wound up working on Broadway, in the theater and for MTV for 5 years.
At 28, I decided to go to University and graduated with honors with a degree in Creative Writing while also racing bicycles competitively culminating in a national championship.
At 32, I yearned for the city and moved to Denver, Colorado and worked in sales at a Fortune 500 company for a few years before deciding that wanted to be a classroom teacher.
At 34, I went back to school to get my licence and for the past ten years have chased and taught middle school students as best as I could. It's an exhausting profession and I wouldn't have traded the last ten years for anything different. It was rewarding, challenging, fast paced and crazy. Every day there was something new and I thrived.
Now, at 46, I am ready for another shift and would like to spend time working creatively as a writer. It's my degree and has always been a side passion. Some things in life have a shelf life, writing is not one. Competitive windsurfing and cycling certainly do and for me, teaching did too. At the end of the last school year I came to the realization that I could no longer deliver my best 100% of the time to the kids. I simply got a bit older and don't think that it's fair to them.
So here we are. If you have read this far, thanks. I am looking for remote work as a writer. I have spent 10 years editing and teaching writing and have helped others with their website content. I am punctual. Once I am set on a task, I don't stop until it is completed. I can take criticism. It's a must if you work in the theater and entertainment industry and I really like to think and come up with the best way to deliver content. That's sales, teaching and being on top of owning life a bit I reckon.
Hopefully we are a match and I can join your team and get to work to earn some money. I can write content at your request based on your guidelines, deliver it quickly and have experience in finding the gist in writing and translating to fluent English in French and Turkish.
Hope all is well. Be well and stay safe.
