The interactive presentation served the purpose of introducing participants to the TEAMS initiative and the graduate certificate Program. The Teaching, Education and Advocacy for Military Students (TEAMS) initiative in the Darden College of Education at Old Dominion University is a multidisciplinary, integrative effort committed to the development of educators who are highly skilled in working with P-12 students from military families. 2013-MCEC-University, Military, and School District Partnerships that Matter – Inside view of a dynamic model for university, military, and school district collaborations and partnerships designed to facilitate military-connected student success. Grants Awarded 2013- $2.5 million DoDEA Military-Connected Academic Support Program (MCASP) Grant is in collaboration with community partner Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Old Dominion University (ODU) sub grant is a 12-credit hour Military Child and Families Education graduate certificate to VBCPS teachers, counselors and administrators. 2014- Evaluation of Prince William County Schools Transition Assistance Program. Subcontract award working as Outside Evaluators for PWCS Public Schools Military-Connected Academic Support Programs (MCASP) funded through the Department of Defense Activity (DoDEA). Contracts Awarded 2013 MCASP Operation Pride Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA)K-12 partnership Grant in collaboration with Virginia Beach City Public Schools implementing two TEAMs cohorts and Service delivery plans in six schools to increase social emotional supports for military connected students.
