My strength lies in languages. I can do fast reading in both English and Chinese and point out the ungrammatical or improper expressions in no time. I've been learning English for 8 years(6 years at high school and 2 years in the university) and reached an advanced level. At present I am studying linguistics and English literature in the best language university over China. I am also the 32th president in the language association in my university and organize language-partner-seeking activities every week to connect international students here with local students.
In addition, I have some knowledge about marketing and business, which was my major for the first year at college. I furthered my business study in Chinese University of Hong Kong(QS 46th), and had an internship in Manulife, an international insurance corporation, where I did case study of stock trades in Hong Kong, and benefited a lot from my mentor. After this one-year study, I participated in a Business Stimulation Competition held by Citibank and my team won the first prize. Recently I worked for the marketing department of Education First in Beijing.
Moreover, I am pretty into movies and TV series. I often read reviews in English. I dream to become a screen writer. I’ll start from writing reviews myself and do subtitle translation. The precise and creative use of language absorbs me so much that every time I read a wonderful line, dialogue or poem, I feel touched by the power of words, the power of a writing soul.
I expect a remote job abroad instead of simply teaching English or editing in China, because I’d like to interact with people overseas. By exploring their views of the world, their working ethics, their passion for a certain position, I get refreshed and eye-opened. New ideas are to a person what water is to dried sponge. Only after absorbing enough new ideas can a person be expanded to its ideal size. I have made many friends from France, Italy, Spain and German. I really appreciate their efforts to help be achieve a well-round personality. Also I have volunteered in Sri Lanka, arousing local students’ awareness of global issues. This summer in 2018, I am going to Europe for voluntary work. I hope during my spare time in university or in summer, I can do an hourly job related to language.
