IT Specialist
Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
While working as an IT Specialist, my position for the past three years has allowed for management of
electronic equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, tabulators, and wiring. I am
effective with monitoring and allowing the utmost proficiency while keeping the laptops to the peak of
their performance. Alongside the executive chief judge of the precinct, I served as the right hand man
showing up before anyone else and being the direct line of transportation for the tabulator, the voting
machine. From Dell to HP computers, I have adapted to the change in infrastructure. Improving on the
road of communication from the headquarters at the Wayne County Board of Elections to the individual
precinct was a key element in keeping the workday smooth.
Prior to election day, my job compliments the ability to plan out the positioning of electronics to allow a
safe and smooth workplace environment. The installation of such systems creates a need for an
evaluation of how they will be utilized. It is my responsibility to make such systems accessible to those
that are not as proficient in their operations. Those that worked alongside myself would gain the
knowledge to also aid in creating a resourceful environment to keep every cog in the machine rolling
during needed breaks. This can also be said vice-versa as I worked under Chief Judge Charles
McLendon, a veteran of the United States Air Force, learning his position and how I would manage in
effective communication to our supervisor.
As a holder of an Associate's Degree for Applied Science in Business IT Support as Wayne Community
College, I am on a priority list to be called in for this position during election days. Even post graduation,
the higher grade IT specialist has recognized me as a valuable asset to the team. The success of
keeping a productive workday was in part to the intelligence I have gained during my studies.
