I am a junior web developer who has been coding as a passion project for the past three years. While I do not yet have formal freelancing experience, I have dedicated this time to building a variety of applications and experimenting with different technologies. My projects range from browser games and static websites to a functional online messaging platform and a mock e-commerce store. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development.
On the front end, I’ve created responsive websites, to-do list with weekly reminders, and several browser games. My favourite out of that bunch was creating a fully functioning messaging platform that updates in real life. On the back end, I’ve worked extensively with databases and server-side logic, managing hosting environments and ensuring applications run smoothly. Currently, three of my projects are live online, all hosted on a single server I set up and manage myself.
Beyond web development, I enjoy exploring programming at a deeper level. I’ve built games for the terminal and experimented with languages such as Go, C, C++, and Clojure. This curiosity helps me understand different programming ascpects and keeps me adaptable to new technologies. I make it a priority to compare tools and frameworks, always seeking the best solutions that are sustainable and future-proof.
What excites me most about web development is the opportunity to turn ideas into real, useful products. I am eager to transition from personal projects to real-world work, where I can collaborate with clients and teams, contribute my skills, and continue learning through practical challenges. Building a strong portfolio from professional projects is my next goal, and I am highly motivated to take the steps necessary to achieve it.
In addition to my technical background, I bring transferable skills from my work as a Pharmacist Assistant. In that role, I learned how to communicate clearly with clients who may not have technical knowledge, an ability that translates directly to working with non-technical team members in software projects. I also developed teamwork and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment, which I carry into my development process.
As I continue to grow as a developer, I am committed to writing clean, efficient code, staying open to feedback, and embracing every opportunity to improve. I am excited about the journey ahead and look forward to applying my passion for technology to real-world challenges.
