I support dscout marketing efforts using design, illustration and writing
across various platforms, including sales and marketing materials, social
media graphics, visual strategy and branded swag, with a focus on the
People Nerds blog. I work closely with the Design Director and VP of
Marketing to establish and propel the dscout brand through website
optimizations, brand illustrations, and establishing dscout in the wild
through branded swag and sales materials for events and conferences. I
collaborate weekly with the remote Editorial Director to plan, ideate, and
produce visual content for People Nerd blog articles and the newsletter. I
also work closely with the Customer Success and Sales teams to constantly
iterate on materials to equip new and existing clients for success, through
decks, one pagers, case studies, worksheets, emails, client on-boarding docs,
and other marketing and sales collateral. Specific projects include
redesigning the dscout team page to attract new hires and depict our
company values, and a redesign of the People Nerds blog for a better reader
experience and increased engagement.
Freelance Designer and Illustrator 2011 to Present
I have worked with individuals, teams, and companies to provide unique
creative solutions through a combination of my skills in design, illustration,
and writing. Notable projects include illustrations for multiple successful
social media campaigns for Epic Reads (HarperCollins’ YA content
platform), UX design for an award-winning interactive e-cookbook, and
branding for actress Emma Watson's feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf.
Digital Designer HarperCollins Publishers, New York NY, Jul 2015 to Aug 2016
I created innovative digital content to support daily and long-term
marketing efforts across social media, web, and email, working closely with
various marketing teams to translate ideas into highly effective campaigns
to promote our books, authors, and brands, leading to brand growth and
multiple bestsellers. I directly contributed to the strength and growth of
HarperCollins Children’s Books by establishing a brand style guide for
their digital presence.
Copywriter and Designer Ntent, New York, NY, Mar 2014 to Jul 2015
Worked closely with Account Managers and Ad Operations to establish
brand language and creative direction of digital advertising campaigns,
delivering ad copy and visual graphics that often exceeded client
expectation. I helped grow the strength of our creative team through
Photoshop tutorials, and by producing style guidelines and templates to
streamline process and increase efficiency.
