I worked hard to make it to the University of Missouri's School of Journalism. It was there in Columbia, Missouri that I first worked with Final Cut.I spent hours on that software and soon learned to use it and Adobe and avid. I worked for three years at the student television station, MUTV. I rose the ladder from rookie staffer all the way to Assistant General Manager. The people above could always count on me to take a story and dedicate some free time to filming in the field. In my spare time, I could be found in the studio, at an editing station or with a camera in my hands.
I went into the documentary film interest area to learn under Robert Greene and Stacey Woelfel. . During my senior year, I directed a short documentary entitled "Two Petty Criminals, Not Worth Naming." It's a film about the forgotten history of Fayetteville, Georgia and the way historians shape southern heritage. In addition to the work on my own film, I worked as an assistant editor, cinematographer and production assistant for other films during the production.
