Hi, I’m David Oliver, a seasoned talent acquisition leader, recruiter, and founder with over 15 years of experience building high-impact teams across the tech, public sector, nonprofit, and startup ecosystems. I’ve worn many hats throughout my career: in-house recruiter, executive search consultant, federal hiring partner, diversity advocate, and most recently, the founder of Moonshot Consulting — a firm dedicated to transforming how companies hire through the power of AI, strategic sourcing, and authentic relationship-building.
My specialty lies in helping organizations find the right people, not just on paper, but in practice. I’ve led full-cycle recruitment for engineering, GTM, leadership, and highly specialized roles, from scrappy seed-stage startups to multi-billion-dollar federal contracts. I understand how to navigate complex hiring environments, whether that means OFCCP compliance and clearance-based hiring or landing that unicorn candidate who isn’t even on LinkedIn yet.
I believe recruiting is both an art and a science. I combine data-driven strategy with a human-centered approach to ensure my clients hire smarter, faster, and more inclusively. I’m well-versed in tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Lever, Jobvite, Workday, and the latest AI-driven sourcing platforms. But more than tools, I bring tenacity, curiosity, and a strong instinct for what makes someone not only a qualified candidate, but also a cultural add.

Outside of recruiting, I’m a bass player (live and in the studio), a writer, and someone who thrives on collaboration and creativity.
