Upon completion of a term as Interim News Editor, I was asked if I would be
interested in creating a Sports Section for The Vanguard as well as acting as its
section editor
Created the section from the ground up by implementing running features,
wrote a sports-based extension to the in-house style guide, and established
professional relationships between The Vanguard editorial staff and key
members of PSU’s Department of Athletics
Interviewed and hired a number of contributors who would go on to write for
the new Sports Section
Participated in all duties that were expected of me in my previous role as
Interim News Editor, as well as writing a significant number of articles for the
Sports section
