Danielle Whyte

I am an undergraduate with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica along with a Project Management Certificate from University of the West Indies. It is said “when opportunity meets preparedness there is success”.

Recently, I have served as an Administrative Assistant at the National Office of the Bethel United Church, Jamaica with primary responsibilities of providing administrative and secretarial support to the Island Bishop. I am employed as the central and liaison staff for disseminating information regarding the organization (16 churches) among all the local pastors and congregants. A leading aspect of my job includes; filing, financial documentation, cheque preparation and distribution, banking, petty cash management, assist with planning meetings, taking minutes, preparing reports while carrying out day to day activities of the office and being the voice of reasoning. This position, comes with little and at times no supervision, and thus has taught me how to manage my time well while mastering multiple tasks at hand. 

Whilst completing my university tenure, I was exposed to excellent customer service training and basic accounting principles but I am not limited to that as I have developed excellent administrative skills overtime. I am often recognized by my peers and professionals as a reticent individual who assimilate information to make valid and out of the box points. Over the years I have become a quick learner and with the speed, demand of technology along with my interest, I have developed independent learning skills that have increased my knowledge in this technology and other areas. I also have strong public speaking skills and confidence levels which were developed while being a part of the debating team during my tenure at Vere Technical High School. I am an ardent member of my church community, I now serve as the National Youth Secretary and I have also served in various national leadership capacities before. These services have instilled within me traits of honesty, fairness and high integrity. I am also enthusiastic about challenging opportunities and in extension this position and I am willing to learn new concepts which is a key strength for any experienced position.
