About

Hello! I am a full-stack software developer and I am passionate about mobile and web development.

In the 2018 summer, I applied for MIT Global Startup Lab(MIT GSL) and was selected. MIT Global Startup Lab is an intensive boot-camp where students work in teams to develop and ultimately launch a startup business. The courses were divided into two parts, the technical part which was mainly building a full-stack app with the use of Meteor and React js, as well as the business part which focused on entrepreneurship concepts that can help someone start his own business. Our team managed to come up with an idea of making job searching easier and we build an app for it

After the MIT GSL Bootcamp, I applied for the Andela Fellowship program. To get selected, I was required to build a full-stack project within a period of a month. Andela provided a project called SendIt( a platform to send parcels in a different location). I built back-end with Node/Express while front-end I made use of Vanilla Javascript, HTML, and CSS.

I got an opportunity to sharpen my programming skills when I joined Andela with what Andela calls simulation project. This was a 4 months full-stack project called Author’s haven, a project to facilitate people to write articles of any length. We used Node/Express for back-end and React/Redux for front-end

After the simulation program, I worked for Tulaa as a front-end angular engineer for a period of 3 months. Tulaa is a startup company based in Kenya. Its idea is to help farmers access agriculture inputs easier and faster by the use of mobile technology. My main contribution at Tulaa was about refactoring the codebase and re-implementing features to improve user experience. I also enjoyed working with a diverse team, Tulaa had engineers from Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and Rwanda.

Right after my work at Tulaa, this last month, I participated in 2019 Developer Circles from facebook community challenge hackathon and meet Elvis whom we formed a team. Our submission is a mental calculation game for kids that is called RockIt. This game is built with Html5 and Vanilla Javascript. Our goal is not just for the hackathon but we want to publish this game to Facebook instant games.

When I am not coding I enjoy watching movies and playing guitar
