Daniel Friedman’s career has seen him work across a range of disciplines. He has
gained professional experience as a writer, actor, comedian, MC, journalist, editor,
marketing director, producer, teacher and researcher. Aside from his work in comedy
he has held full-time positions at companies including Cerebra, Presence /
Entertainment Africa, JHBLive, the Mail & Guardian and SL Magazine. He was also cofounder and Marketing Director of web design and development company J is for
Genius.
While Daniel is probably best known for his alter-ego, musical comedian Deep Fried
Man, he is primarily a writer, and has over the years penned articles, opinion pieces,
songs, blog posts, advertising copy and television scripts. He has been nominated for
and won multiple awards as both a writer and a performer.
Aside from his primary professional abilities - his creativity and mastery of the
English language - Daniel is reliable, punctual, professional and hardworking. These
qualities coupled with his ability to see things from his own unique perspective
