Academic Project
Title: Autonomous platform for Farming
Objective: The objective was to design and manufacture a platform to automate the various procedures required
for farming using various sensors, actuation systems, power-electronics, wireless communication and guidance
systems along with the manufacturing required for the mechanical hardware and chassis.
Description
The platform is an autonomous farming robot which is designed and intended to perform all the necessary
physical tasks required to grow horticultural crops with minimal human intervention. It does this using machine
vision technology combined with GPS and IMU sensors data in a Kalman filter to decide the most efficient and
productive way in which a given area of land can be cultivated. The combination of mechanical and electrical
systems together provides high accuracy in terms of usage of fertilizers and pesticides, tasks that humans would
find tedious and time consuming.
