Hi, I’m Dan. I am a freelance proofreader and copyeditor who has a keen eye for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. My expertise is in the life sciences, but I have been known to geek-out on anything science related.
I am a native English speaker with experience writing and editing cover letters, peer-reviewed articles, academic publications, and technical/scientific pieces. I know firsthand how important it is to have a second set of eyes look over your work. I look forward to partnering with you to make your content clear, concise, and compelling!
My career path has led me in many directions, and over the past 17 years I have had the good fortune to work for state/federal agencies, universities, environmental consulting companies, nonprofits, and, currently, as a subcontracting biologist.
I have a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a minor in chemistry from Eastern Illinois University. I also completed my master’s degree in biological sciences at Eastern Illinois University and received a graduate certificate in applied statistics from the University of Kentucky. I continually seek to hone my skills and recently completed the General Proofreading: Theory and Practice™ course by Proofread Anywhere to help me meet your needs.
