I have a BA in English and a Technical Writing certificate from the University of North Texas. I'm a voracious reader, so I'm a word nerd who can easily see errors in writing.

I have five plus year's experience in proofreading. Back in 2010, I started a proofreading home-based business where I proofread written works for independent authors. I check for clarity, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and typos using Word's Review features to track changes. Around 2013, I had to help my parents with their health issues, so I abandoned the idea of freelancing, and eventually went back to work in the office. My last job in the office was as a technical editor, where we incorporated changes our clients wanted to documents in either Word or PDF. We used the track changes features on Word and the editing tools in PDF, so I have plenty of experience proofreading. I restarted my current freelancing business in August, 2025, and it's known as On the Ball Proofreading, which is a pun on my last name, and I'm "on the ball" with proofreading.
