I am a third-year nursing student currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Lyceum of the Philippines University – St. Cabrini. My journey in nursing has been both challenging and fulfilling, as it continuously shapes not only my knowledge and skills but also my character and perspective in life. Being in this field has taught me the true essence of compassion, patience, and resilience—values that I strive to embody in both my personal and professional life.
Throughout my clinical experiences, I have been exposed to different healthcare settings such as the ward, emergency room, operating room, hemodialysis unit, and community health centers. These experiences allowed me to develop essential nursing skills including patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, assisting in procedures, and providing holistic care. I have also learned the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability, especially when dealing with diverse patients and fast-paced environments.
Aside from my clinical exposure, I am also actively engaged in academic and research activities. I am currently involved in a research study focusing on the quality of life of elderly individuals, which has enhanced my critical thinking and analytical skills. This experience taught me how to gather data responsibly, respect ethical considerations, and appreciate the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing.
Beyond academics, I also have experience working in our family’s laundry business, where I developed a strong sense of responsibility, time management, and customer service. Additionally, I have a passion for video editing, which I often do for school projects and as a hobby. This creative skill allows me to express ideas in a unique and engaging way, while also improving my attention to detail.
As a person, I consider myself hardworking, adaptable, and eager to learn. I am not afraid to face challenges because I see them as opportunities for growth. I believe that every experience, whether good or difficult, contributes to becoming a better version of myself.
In the future, I aspire to become a competent and compassionate registered nurse who can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I aim to continue learning, improving my skills, and serving others with dedication and empathy.
