PROFILE OF CHUKWUEMEKA MBAGWU
Chukwuemeka Mbagwu is a graduate of The Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Nigeria
where he obtained both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND)
in Secretarial Administration. He also holds three (3) diplomas in French Language,
Diplomes d’Etudes en Langue Franςaise (DELF – A2, B1 & B2) from the French National
Ministry of Education, Paris. In addition, he is a Graduate Member of the Nigerian
Institute of Management.
Mr. Mbagwu is a seasoned bilingual confidential secretary with very good knowledge of
English and French Languages. His career experience spans over 25 years wherein he
has occupied senior management positions in organizations that are involved in Foreign
and Local Trade Promotions, Financial/Investment Advisory, Bureau De Change, Micro
Finance Bank and Manufacturing. His expertise includes strong writing and oral
communication skills, proposal presentations, itinerary scheduling, file management
strategic business formation, transformation and operation. He was at the head of an
administrative unit of a management team that worked for the growth of a small scale
enterprise (Riggs Securities Ltd), from a limited liability company of 12 employees with
a share capital of N50million ($112,000), to a large scale firm (Riggs Ventures West
Africa Plc) a public liability company (plc) of over 150 employees with a share capital of
N1billion ($4.5millin). He has made several board presentations/recommendations and
as a good negotiator he has successfully interfaced with diverse stakeholders on behalf
of his employers. He is endowed with the ability to resolve complex, strategic and
managerial challenges timely with focus on organizational goal. He is equally a very
good team player and effective communicator and is always relied upon to create a
climate that fosters growth and development. His computer and IT proficiency covers
Microsoft word and Excel, while he is also getting acquainted with remote working tools
such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, Google Calendar among others.
In the course of his career, he has achieved many milestones, among which are:
Working as a key member of the team that successfully negotiated and
secured a $10million private equity investment into the company to
restructure its capital.
Playing an active role as an integral part of the management team that
secured a $10million facility from African Export Import Bank which assisted
the company to expand its production capacity from 9 million sacks to
69million sacks per annum, thereby making it the third largest of its kind in
Nigeria.
Actively participating in the processes that took the company from a private
limited liability company to a public limited liability through a N2billion private
placement exercise and subsequent registration with the Securities and
Exchange Commission.
Handling local and foreign trade documentation processes from inception,
shipment and delivery of goods. Till date he has overseen successful
conclusion of commercial transactions goods worth of $20million.
Making periodic presentations to all stakeholders including bankers.
Overseeing the smooth running of administrative and official communication
channels
Ensuring the various units support operations towards meeting the corporate
goals
Organizing and monitoring training as well as motivating of the organization’s
staff
Representing the management in meetings with clients, investors and
bankers
Relating with government agencies, trade associations and regulatory
authorities to ensure cordial relationship between his employers and third
parties.
Organizing successful trade missions as well as fairs, seminars and workshops
locally and internationally.
