I am a former Operations Manager in leading fast food restaurant in Philippines for nearly 5 years. I handled different areas in managing the branch I am assigned. I look after the day to day operations, to the training of crew members, to cash control, inventory management as well as making annual business plan for the branch. After I gave birth to my son, I changed my work environment from food industry to optical clinic as a Branch Manager. In this new nature of work, I learned how to adapt to big changes at the same time, it enhanced my skills as a manager. I easily learned the procedures in the optical clinic even if I don't have a background with the operations they have. After 6 months of being in optical clinic, I realized that my heart really belongs to the food industry. I went back to food industry in one of the branches here in the Philippines of the largest coffee shop company in Canada. I applied as Asst. Branch Manager and luckily, I passed. But due to pandemic, it ended up my career. As of now, I am a full time mom having side jobs as baker of my own online bake store. This pandemic taught me new skills that I haven't acquired during my time as a manager. Now, I knew that work hard is not enough, you need also to work smart and make strategic decisions for your career.
