I've worked as a Virtual Legal Assistant for a BPO company whose clients are mainly US-based healthcare providers and law firms specializing in Workers Compensation cases. I've been in this industry for almost 5 years.
As a Virtual Legal Assistant, my duties included data entry, e-filing legal forms, drafting legal correspondence, labeling med-legal documents (i.e. contact letters, intake sheet, deposition transcript, hearing, benefits, UR and IMR notices, and med-legal reports), web-based research, reviewing and summarizing intake sheet, hearing, deposition, med-legal reports and SDT records, case analysis preparation, and email handling. I was also hired as a paralegal assistant by a North California-based law firm specializing in both personal and Workers Compensation cases in October 2018 where I acquired new skills set such as drafting settlement demand and appointment setting. I may not have a formal education nor personal legal background, but I am confident that with proper training and the knowledge that I obtained from my previous work as a remote legal assistant, my go-getter attitude will bring me and my future employer successful work output.
