Work Skills
Team Player
Developed during my tenure as literary editor in a student publication. Important matters in managing a student publication were discussed during our regular editorial board meetings such as making most out of limited budget for publishing issues, handling negative feedback from our readers, editorial judgment on writing sensitive stories, and the like.
Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
I have developed this during the course of my degree through class presentations and writing assignments which required me to meet people.
Copy-editing
I copy-edited journals for an international academic publisher. During my training period, the following topics were taught to me by my trainers: grammar, copy-editing conventions, following client-specific instructions for each journal title, how to code and edit using BaKoMa TeX and XML, the Chicago Manual of Style, and the Oxford Guide to Style.
Interests/Hobbies
I enjoy reading a variety of fiction, nonfiction, philosophy, and poetry books. I also spend my free time sharing my personal opinion about social issues on Facebook, particularly on topics like mental health awareness and suicide prevention, feminism, combating rape culture, human rights, and the like. Occasionally, I write short stories and poetry. My passion for creative writing has led me to meet various people in the creative writing industry via social media, ranging from amateur writers to award-winning veterans.
