I’m Chala Olani Geleta, a passionate software engineer with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and full-stack development. My journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Adama Science and Technology University, where I graduated with a high CGPA of 3.77/4, alongside practical experience in programming languages like Python, PHP, SQL, TypeScript, and C++. My technical skills extend to frameworks like Laravel, Nextjs, and React enabling me to build efficient, secure, and scalable systems tailored to solve real-world problems.

I’ve solved over 900 problems on coding platforms like LeetCode and Codeforces, refining my approach to technical challenges through my participation in A2SV (Africa to Silicon Valley). This program, backed by Google, connected me with top-tier mentors and rigorous training, setting a high standard for problem-solving, algorithm development, and clean coding practices.

Professionally, I’ve contributed as a software development intern at Oromia Science and Technology Authority, Adama Science and Technology University, and Eskalate. During these roles, I was responsible for developing a full-stack system and optimizing backend services, including creating REST APIs that enable smooth communication between client and server. My work on a large-scale platform for the Oromia Science and Technology Authority supported over 1,000 users, demonstrating my ability to handle high-impact projects. Additionally, I worked within collaborative teams, coordinating with other developers to integrate front-end and back-end functionalities that enhance the user experience.

Among the projects I’m most proud of is HealthSync, an outbreak prediction and resource recommendation model, which I integrated into an API to deliver real-time predictions with a MAPE of 0.0136. My Online Pharmacy project optimized page load times by 50% through caching, improving user retention by 20% and showcasing my commitment to performance and user satisfaction.
