STANDARD HOURS OF WORK
General Policy
1. Employees shall work a work day and a work week as scheduled by the Employer, which takes into account operational requirements, applicable legislation, fairness, and internal equity.
Specific Policies
Standard Hours of Work
1. The standard hours of work for full-time Administration and Department / Program office employees shall be Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and seven (7) hours per day and thirty-five (35) hours per week.
2. The standard hours of work for regular or temporary employees in a part-time position shall be as determined by the Department / Program Manager and approved by the Executive Director.
3. The standard hours of work for full-time field employees shall be eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week.
4. Employees eligible for a meal period shall be entitled to a one (1) hour unpaid meal period from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, unless other schedules or arrangements have been preauthorized by the employee’s immediate supervisor, or determined by the Employer.
5. Employees hours of work shall not exceed forty‑eight (48) hours in a week, except as a result of averaging the weekly hours of work, or in the case of a real emergency as determined by the employee’s immediate supervisor.
6. Employees shall be entitled to two (2) fifteen minute paid breaks per day, with the scheduling of the breaks as determined by the employee's immediate supervisor. Where an employee does not take a break during the work day, the time worked during the break period shall not be included in the calculation of overtime.
Time Sheets
7. All employees must submit completed bi-weekly time sheets to their immediate supervisor for approval / signing. In the absence of the immediate Supervisor, the Department / Program Manager, or the Executive Director, as applicable, shall have the approval authority. Time sheets not turned in by the due date may not be processed until the next pay period. The Executive Director’s time sheet shall be authorized by the Chair of the Board of Directors.

8. Other employee work schedules shall be as defined within Policy B 2.0
