The Sweet and Salty Pig’s Midwest Expansion Continues
Franchise development agreement signed for new restaurant location in the greater Appleton area.
Fond du Lac, WI: The Sweet and Salty Pig is excited to launch its second location in Appleton, Wisconsin. This restaurant that puts a twist on classic dishes marks the company’s 2nd location, located at 4333 Wisconsin, I-41. The restaurant welcomes the public to celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on September 26th. During the ribbon cutting the restaurant will proudly make a donation to a few local charities. The restaurant will be open to the public on September 27th at 10:30 a.m.
The Sweet and Salty Pig is known for their modern comfort food with a unique bacon theme that always excites new and returning customers. The new restaurant location will kick off with new bold flavors, perfectly crafted straight from the kitchen. Using the freshest ingredients, the Sweet and Salty Pig customers can enjoy quality food that fits within their lifestyle. Dishes include slow roasted beef brisket grilled cheese, guacamole topped with topped with Applewood smoked bacon, and a sizzling bacon skillet with hot jalapenos and mozzarella cheese served with tortilla chips. They are also known for serving all day breakfast as well as a full bar. Early risers can power up their mornings with new protein-packed egg bowls, egg and cheese panini, bringing together hearty ingredients like pecan wood smoked ham, avocado, baby spinach, tomato, pesto, and of course, bacon. Variety of cocktails include a sweet dessert drink, the white chocolate martini which has Godiva white chocolate liqueur, crème de cocoa, Smirnoff vanilla vodka. Another popular drink that packs a punch is the famous Bacon Me Crazy Bloody Mary, known for its secret recipe bloody mary mix, garnished with candied bacon, local Butcher Block beef stick, string cheese, pickle, celery, bleu cheese olives, served long over ice. It is owned and operated by Allison Gossman who is a Fond du Lac native. By strategically placing the restaurant in a high-traffic retail area in Appleton, The Sweet and Salty Pig offers customers easier access to its beloved crispy bacon cuisines. Gossman shared that the new location will have patio seating, drive thru options for to-go orders, and online ordering.
Gossman found her passion for food growing up cooking with her mother and grandmother. It was always a staple of family events and gatherings. She opened her first restaurant in Fond du Lac for its perfect location, opportunity, and friendly community. She states, “I really wanted to do something for myself.” Starting her own business has felt very rewarding. She appreciates having the opportunity to give people great jobs in an outgoing, amiable environment.
