My previous and current experience in retail has allowed me to work in a fast-paced environment and has taught me how to manage my time effectively. It has also taught me how to work with and communicate with many different people. My previous and current work as an administrator has taught me how to manage an office and a business. I am very eager to work in an environment similar to my previous and current jobs.
Working at RONA for 2 years, as a cashier, I have learned how to be a great customer service representative, I have learned to operate a cash register and I have learned to manage myself in a fast-paced environment. As a vault team member, I have learned to manage the money collected in the entire store, I have learned to effectively communicate with head office over the phone and have been entrusted to ensure the balance of all tills and to handle unexpected discrepancies. As a social committee team member, I have been entrusted, with a group of people, to implement social events and team building activities for our branch of the company. I was also a part of the marketing team who were responsible for implementing the store changes according to our marketing directives from head office. At RONA I have been able to work and build the skill of working independently as well as a part of the team.
Working at SPANNER for a year, I have been entrusted with more responsibility as a key holder to take charge of the store operations. I am responsible for the opening and closing of the store. I have learned to manage the visual merchandise of the store as well ensure that the selling needs of the store is met. I have been able to make and hit target selling goals. Also, I am responsible for the overall cleanliness of the store to ensure customer satisfaction.
Working as an Administrator for Pierre A. Thompson and "TheNext" Youth group, I have had the opportunity to be in control of the operations, events and outings for the group as well as Pierre individually. I am in charge of the overall calendar and appointment booking for both Pierre and the group as the set point of contact. For events, I am the operational manager and a contributor of ideas for the event. This position has taught me to work with and communicate to a diverse group of people. Also, for this position, I operate Apple programs such as "Pages", "Numbers" and "Keynote".
Working at Body Blitz Spa, having the responsibility of handling the front desk as well as ensuring the daily operations of the spa go smoothly, I have learned to pay attention to details. I have also learned to be extremely organized as it pertains to scheduling and bookings. I am responsible for the opening and closing of the spa and I am the first point of contact for customer inquiries and also, I am the first point of contact for incidents and emergencies. This has taught me to always be prepared and to have emotional intelligence while dealing with any incidents.
These skills I have attained from my previous and current jobs will allow me to work for this Assistant position and I can easily transfer my skills to this job. Also, I have taken courses in school so that I am knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I am eager to work in this position and look forward to your response.
