RELATED PROJECTS:
Database Analyst Capstone Project
My project was to create an application that utilized a database in order to make analytics for a game developer.
In this project I created a database in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. An application was made in Microsoft Visual Studio to display a variety of analytics through visuals using the game database. Additionally, a User Guide, Technical Reference, and Disaster Recovery Guide were created for the project. Here is a link to a website portfolio of the project.
Data Mining Project
My project for data mining was used to examine statistics of the YouTube trending page. The goal was to see if there was evidence that YouTube hand picks videos for trending, or if it is entirely done by the algorithm.
With the use of XLminer, an extension of Excel, I performed a variety of data mining techniques on a sample set of data from the YouTube trending page. Classification rules, k-means, and naïve Bayes algorithms suggested that YouTube’s algorithm handles the entirety of the trending page. There was no evidence YouTube hand-picks videos.
