I have been involved in all facets of softball and at all levels. I was a former D1 catcher, professional player, D1 coach, personal instructor, travel ball coach, tournament director, and currently a softball analyst for ESPN. I have great experience and knowledge of the particulars of local, travel and college softball. As a coach I was heavily involved in managing budgets and organizing camps/clinics. My goal is always to grow the game and give softball players a platform were they can find enjoyment and success at the level they play.
I was a firefighter for nearly a decade, and I was the Vice President of our union. In my position with the fire department and union, I developed, updated and implemented policies and procedures to benefit the well being and effectiveness of our department. I was involved in board meetings and budget negotiations. I understand how to create and manage a budget, and create policies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. As a lieutenant I managed a crew, ensured their safety, organized training, and was in constant communication with my chief. I was in charge of the operations of my crew.
At ESPN I have been involved with the WCWS, ACC championships, post season and regular season games as an analyst. While working for a global company, I have gained direct experience and training in the business and marketing side of softball. As an analyst for ESPN I have proven to have strong independent work skills. Before any event I cover, I remotely scout, prepare, interview players/coaches, create plans for production of the teams/games we will be covering.
Through my years involved in softball I have created great relationships with local, travel and collegiate coaches.
