Creating and Sending Marketing
Emails in HighLevel
This case study shows how I plan, build, and launch data-driven email marketing campaigns
inside GoHighLevel. It covers the full process, from using Smart Send to improve open rates, to
designing mobile-friendly, sales-focused email layouts that support direct clicks and conversions.
The images below highlight how I manage the entire email lifecycle, turning simple contact lists
into active marketing and revenue channels through smart automation and campaign structure.

The image (page 3) shows the Email Marketing Dashboard, which is the main starting point for creating and
managing email campaigns. It clearly shows that email marketing begins from the Marketing button, leading
into the email section where campaigns and templates are handled. This dashboard connects marketing
planning with execution while displaying key engagement metrics like deliverability, open rates, and clickthrough rates (CTR). These insights help keep email list health strong and ensure campaigns are guided by
data, not guesswork.
The blue “Create Campaign” button and the tabs for Campaigns and Templates highlight the first steps in
launching an email campaign. This setup supports broadcast emails such as newsletters, promotions, and
product launches. Using templates helps maintain brand consistency and saves time by avoiding repetitive
setup work.
The Engagement Summary section uses simple charts to show how emails are performing: what gets
delivered, opened, and clicked. This makes it easy to spot issues with subject lines, content, or CTAs and
improve email performance over time.
The top menu tools like Social Planner, Trigger Links, and Affiliate Manager show that email marketing works
alongside other channels. This supports a multi-channel marketing strategy where email, social media, and
partnerships work together for better results.

The images (page 5-6) show the Email Campaign Management area, where all email campaigns are
created, saved, and organized inside GoHighLevel. This is where new email marketing campaigns are
started and existing ones are managed. The layout supports both creating emails from scratch and
launching campaigns quickly using ready-made or saved templates, making the workflow simple and flexible
for ongoing marketing needs.
The blue “New” button opens three clear options: Blank, Email Marketing Templates, and Your Templates. This
shows a smart approach to email marketing efficiency. Using Your Templates helps keep branding consistent
and speeds up campaign creation, while the platform’s built-in templates make it easy to launch emails fast
or test different ideas through A/B testing.
The campaign list displays drafts like “Banking and Payment” and “TESTING,” along with details such as
campaign type, last updated date, and status. Seeing campaigns marked as Draft shows a clear review and
quality control process, ensuring emails are checked before sending.
The Search Campaign Name field and Filters button make it easy to manage many campaigns at once. This
setup supports scalable email marketing, allowing quick access to past campaigns, tests, or seasonal emails
without confusion.

The image (page 8) shows the template library inside GoHighLevel, where ready-made page and funnel
designs are stored. Instead of starting from scratch, this area lets me choose an existing template and
customize it. This approach improves operational efficiency and helps launch marketing assets faster using
layouts that are already tested and optimized.
The left sidebar groups templates by industry, such as Automotive, Beauty & Fashion, and Business, Coaching
& Consulting. This supports market segmentation by making it easy to pick designs that match the client’s
niche. Choosing an industry-fit layout helps meet user expectations and improves user experience (UX) and
conversion rate optimization (CRO).
The main grid displays hundreds of template previews, with over 800+ templates available. This allows for
rapid prototyping and easy scaling. I can scroll through options, review layouts, and select a design that fits
the goal before making any edits. This saves time and ensures the structure supports the content and offer.
The search bar and sorting options (like “Most Recent”) help speed up the workflow. Being able to quickly
find and reuse templates makes it easier to match client needs, move straight into customization, and keep
projects moving without design delays.

The image (page 10) shows the template preview screen in GoHighLevel, where I review a selected email
template before making any edits. In this case, it’s a “Catering Services” email layout. This step is important
because it lets me fully preview the design and structure to be sure it fits the campaign goal before adding
content or launching an email marketing campaign.
At the top of the preview, there are device view toggles for desktop, tablet, and mobile. I use these to check
how the email looks on all screen sizes. Since most email opens happen on mobile, this helps ensure good
mobile responsiveness, strong user experience (UX), and better engagement instead of people deleting the
email right away.
The layout includes a clear hero image, a strong headline, and a visible call-to-action (CTA) button like
“Order Catering Today.” I review these elements to make sure the design supports conversion-focused email
marketing and encourages clicks, helping improve click-through rates (CTR).
The warm colors and food-related visuals also match the catering theme. Choosing a template that already
fits the brand and offer keeps brand consistency and saves time. This allows me to focus more on
copywriting, messaging, and overall campaign performance instead of heavy design changes.

The image (page 12) shows the email builder in GoHighLevel, where email templates are edited and
customized using a simple drag-and-drop system. This is the main workspace where layout, content, and
design come together to create responsive and conversion-focused email marketing campaigns, without
needing heavy HTML coding.
On the left side is the Elements panel, which includes tools like text, images, buttons, logos, dividers, videos,
shopping cart blocks, and more. These elements make it easy to rebuild or adjust an email template exactly
how it’s needed. Advanced options like shopping cart and RSS blocks also support dynamic content, allowing
emails to pull in products or blog updates automatically for better engagement.
In the center, the canvas shows the email layout in progress, including a clear call-to-action (CTA) button like
“Order Catering Today.” This button is placed intentionally to guide users toward taking action, especially on
mobile devices, helping improve click-through rates (CTR) and overall user flow.
There’s also a code element available for custom HTML or CSS when needed. This gives flexibility for brandspecific designs beyond the drag-and-drop tools. At the top right, options like Preview, Save, and Send or
Schedule support proper testing, timing, and smooth campaign execution.

The images (page 14-16) show the customization stage in GoHighLevel, where a basic email template is
adjusted to fit a specific marketing goal. This phase focuses on fine-tuning layout, spacing, and visuals so the
email looks clean, works well on all devices, and delivers a smooth user experience (UX).
On the left, the Edit Layouts panel shows column layout options along with margin and padding controls.
Instead of using default spacing, I adjust padding to create enough white space. This makes the email easier
to read, reduces visual clutter, and naturally guides the reader’s attention toward the call-to-action (CTA).
The column settings also help ensure the email stays responsive and stacks properly on mobile screens.
The Edit Image menu shows options to upload images from the media library or create new ones using AI.
This highlights the use of AI-powered image generation inside GoHighLevel, which helps speed up campaign
creation when custom visuals are needed without relying on external designers.
The stock hero image is replaced with a relevant product image (pizza), along with added alt text and a
clickable link. Alt text supports accessibility and email deliverability, while linking the image increases clickthrough rates by giving users more ways to engage with the offer.

The images (page 23-30) show the assembly stage of an email campaign in GoHighLevel, where a simple
email is built into a rich, interactive experience. Instead of plain text, the campaign uses advanced elements
like multi-column layouts, videos, product sections, and feedback tools to boost engagement and move leads
faster through the sales funnel.
The Edit Layouts panel displays different column options (from one to four columns) along with margin and
padding controls. This helps create mobile-responsive designs that break up long text and make emails
easier to read. Using layouts like image-on-one-side and text-on-the-other creates a clear visual flow, while
proper spacing ensures everything stacks correctly on mobile devices and avoids clutter.
The Edit Products module allows product names, prices, descriptions, and Buy Now buttons to be added
directly into the email. This supports direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing by letting customers view and
purchase products straight from their inbox, reducing extra clicks and increasing conversions.
The video and image slider elements help improve engagement by keeping readers interested longer.
Sliders are especially useful for showcasing multiple products or results without taking up too much space.
Lastly, the FAQ accordion and rating/feedback modules improve customer experience. FAQs reduce support
questions, while ratings collect valuable feedback and zero-party data for future targeting and campaign
optimization.

The images (page 32-35) show the final pre-send check for the “Catering Services” email campaign in
GoHighLevel. This step focuses on testing how the email looks and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile
before it goes live. It helps protect brand consistency and improves conversions by making sure layouts,
images, and interactive elements display correctly on every device.
At the top, the Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile preview toggles are used for mobile-first optimization. Since
most people open emails on their phones, I check that multi-column food sections stack neatly, text is easy to
read, and nothing breaks or overlaps. This reduces bounce rates and keeps the user experience smooth.
The email includes multiple call-to-action (CTA) buttons placed at different points: “Order Now!” at the top,
“Book Your Reservation!” in the middle, and “Taste More!” further down. This creates a clear conversion path
and matches different buyer stages, helping increase revenue per recipient.
There’s also a 1–10 rating (NPS) module, which turns the email into a two-way interaction. It collects zeroparty data for better segmentation and follow-up.
Finally, an expandable FAQ section near the footer answers common questions like delivery speed. This
removes last-minute doubts and reduces support requests, helping users convert without leaving their inbox.

The images (page 37-39) show the deployment stage in GoHighLevel, where the email moves from design to
delivery. This step focuses on how and when the campaign is sent, who receives it, and how results are
tracked. The goal is to improve open rates, protect domain reputation, and make sure the campaign
performs well.
The Send or Schedule panel includes options like Send Now, Schedule, Batch Schedule, RSS Schedule, and
Smart Send. Instead of sending everything at once, I use Batch Schedule to send emails in smaller groups,
which helps avoid spam filters. Smart Send uses AI to deliver emails at the time each contact is most likely to
open them.
In Additional Settings, options like Track Clicks and UTM tracking are enabled. UTMs make it possible to
track email traffic in Google Analytics, so results are tied to real revenue, not just opens or clicks.
The Recipient section allows sending to selected contacts, Smart Lists, or custom segments, with tagging
enabled. This keeps lists clean and supports automation by tagging contacts for future workflows.
Before sending, I always use the Test Email option. This final quality check ensures the email displays
correctly across Gmail, Outlook, and other providers, protecting the brand’s image.

Emails in HighLevel
Overall, these images show my hands-on approach to lifecycle and retention marketing. I combine
clean email design with the right technical setup, including audience segmentation, UTM tracking,
and automation, so results can be clearly measured. Instead of focusing on vanity metrics like
opens alone, the campaigns are built to drive real engagement and business growth.
This portfolio demonstrates my ability to run scalable, high-volume email campaigns in
GoHighLevel that stay organized, track performance accurately, and support long-term marketing
goals.
