I am an experienced software engineer, holding roles from developer to technical lead
over my career. I have a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering which gives me a good
grounding from the hardware layer up to software. I enjoy working in, building, and leading
teams, and have had extensive experience in this, managing teams of up to 12 engineers.
A large part of my career has been designing and implementing custom software solutions
for consulting clients. I have also worked as the engineering lead / CTO for a SaaS
business, where I gained business skills such as marketing, sales, business operations
and strategy.
I enjoy solving problems and working with people over multiple disciplines.
Experience
Founder, Indri (Pty) Ltd – October 2018 to present
I provide engineering and engineering leadership consulting to startup & small
companies.. A niche that I found is helping smaller companies with their processes and
guiding them through software & security audits. This entails working with the the entire
company to implement policies, procedures and reporting. One of the di erentiators I
o er as a consultant is to help implement whatever changes we identify - whether it is
system design, unit tests, or HR processes.
Engineering Lead, Encentivize, Johannesburg – September 2013 to September 2018
Encentivize was spun-out of Entelect Software, focusing on delivering SaaS products in
the loyalty and rewards space. It was acquired by Compuscan (now Experian) in April
2017.
My role was to lead the engineering team to design, implement and operate the platform
and products to run customer programmes on. We built the system on Azure and
managed a transition from .Net / SQL to the MEAN stack early on.
I also played a role in marketing, sales, operations and business strategy.
Some of our prominent clients included Deloitte, Rand Merchant Bank, First National
Bank, Diners Club SA, Airbus Helicopters SA, Nissan SA, and Telesure.

Some interesting products that we developed include :
Workpoints (www.workpoints.co.za) , a SaaS employee recognition and rewards product.
Neuron, a customisable multi-tenant oAuth 2.0 server, used for authentication across all
clients
Enigma, a low-cost electronic voucher solution
Chomp, a serverless function system
Partner Platform, a 3rd party voucher and gift card aggregator, delivered to clients as an
API solution.
Technical Lead, Entelect Software, Johannesburg – November 2006 to September
2013
Technical lead on custom software solutions spanning nancial, marketing, military and
loyalty sectors.
I contributed to Entelect's drive to improve delivery and quality by creating internal code
libraries and accelerator projects. These e orts drove down our implementation times,
created more robust software, and facilitated engineers in ramping up on new
engagements quicker.
I assisted other developers and teams with design and implementation. Contributed to the
internal Bootcamp training programme for graduates through content and lectures. I was
also lead coordinator for our internal DevDay conference, where I was mainly responsible
for content and direction.
Research Engineer, Storm Logistics – July 2005 to October 2006
Software engineer on geospatial tracking system software. This was end-to-end, from
embedded device code to server and client software.
