Become a Visionary Leader “WITHOUT VISION, THE PEOPLE PERISH.” Can you become a visionary leader?    Being a visionary leader can take work for some people. There is no shame in that. Not being “gifted” as a visionary is not an excuse to lack vision as a leader. It may mean you have to work a little harder at becoming the visionary leader your company needs. Being visionary matters for a leader’s success. A leader is called to make vision into reality. This presentation will give your practical ways you can become a visionary leader. Step One – Time for Reflect  Unfortunately, many leaders get overwhelmed with the urgent and do not have time to reflect.  Busyness kills vision and innovation  You must take time to get away from the whirlwind and reimagine how things are.  This has to be put on your calendar.  Pray! Step Two – Partnerships and Learning  - Meet with visionaries and learn from them.  - Find a visionary mentor.  - Leverage ideas and concepts from like-minded people.  - Learn from famous visionary leaders.  - Study vision. Step Three – Ask the Right Questions  Here are some examples of questions to help you with visions:  - “Are the way things are being done currently in your company the best way?”  - “How do I see myself and my ministry in 5-10 years?”  - If you could do anything, without failing, what would you do?”  - When identifying options, don't give up on a preferred solution just because it first appears impossible to realize. Instead, get in the habit of continually asking, "Why not?"  “How do you want your ministry to impact the world?” Final Keys to Being a Visionary Leader  - Think the unthinkable.  - Do not make the ministry about you! Personal agenda kills vision.  - Collaborate don’t compete with others.  - Encourage new ideas from other people.  - Do not stop learning.  - Vision takes intention, effort, courage and commitment.
