SURGICAL TOURNIQUET:
A tourniquet can be defined as a constricting or compressing device used to control venous and arterial circulation to an extremity for a period of time.
The aim of this project is to develop a working model of surgical tourniquet. The focus will be placed on designing a model, recall and review the safe use of tourniquets and the various techniques that can be employed to minimize the complications of tourniquet use.
The objectives for the surgical tourniquet are as follows:
To restrict the flow of blood during surgery.
To measure the level of cuff pressure by the help of pressure sensor.
It converts the analog pressure into digital form and also display on LCD by the help of microcontroller.
