Billy Wencl

I have worked for Cleveland Public School's Technology Department as their web developer and open-source software specialist since 2018. In 2023, I received my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. While working at Cleveland Public School, I led the transition to a new website platform and have continued to lead design changes and feature additions for it. I have also developed multiple web-based applications for them, including a staff page used daily by the whole building. Most of these web applications utilize a variety of APIs, including many that interact with Google's products. In addition, I have successfully led the implementation of 7 systems in which I had no prior experience. All of these experiences have led me to have strong problem-solving skills and be able to think on my feet, pivoting to new ideas when a plan goes awry. My experience in a tech department also means I have plenty of customer experience as I collaborated with teachers and students to get their technology working as quickly as possible.
