Key Positions of Responsibility
• BoMotion – After some experience in the creative industry at other studios, I decided to go freelance
and as such created my own independent creative studio, BoMotion. Here I create a wide range of
creative content for several well-known brands, such as DC Comics and GE Healthcare, specialising in
Motion Graphics and Animation.
• Cutting Edge – I worked on various campaigns and promos for the Queensland Tourism Board, as well
as a whole heap of television adverts for brands such as Isuzu, Flight Centre and Supercheap Auto. I
would often work side by side with clients, on projects in my own suite, creating better videos as a
result. I also worked on projects where I could use my illustration, compositing and VFX skills.
• Ludo Studio – Working primarily as a VFX Artist and occasionally as an Editor, I was part of the team
at Ludo creating the number one children's cartoon in Australia at the time, Bluey. I would use handdrawn animation to create a variety of special effects for particular scenes in the show, such as
animating various liquids, randomly falling objects, splatters, shadows, explosions and other bits of a
similar nature.
• Skoolbo – Here I was creating a whole variety of products for use on Skoolbo and ChuChu's
educational online services. This often involved creating lots of video content, focussed upon
learning for young children through fun songs, games and books. I also helped out in the creation of
Chu Chu School’s brand new app.
• Jive Creative – To further my knowledge of the creative processes, I moved to work with newlyformed Jive, where I was head animator and videographer. I also did plenty of graphic design for
print, as well as redesigning their website.
•
King Bee Animation Studios – As my first proper job in a creative studio, I learnt plenty while I was
here, and by the end of my time there, was the Lead Motion Graphics Artist. After working on several
projects for plenty of brands as part of their in-house team, I began doing freelance work with them.
Key Roles and Projects
• Bluey – I was hired primarily as a VFX artist to work on the first series of the brilliant new children’s
cartoon, Bluey. After all the character animation and backgrounds were completed, the semi-finished
episodes would be handed over to me, where I would put my creative spin on things, by bringing
more life to certain scenes, which required special effects such as water, splatters, shadows, weather
changes, falling objects and more.
• DC Comics/Eaglemosss Collections – I created 18 advertisements, showcasing DC Comics’ new
collection of hardback comics, published by Eaglemoss Collections. These were shown in various
countries around the world, and were created entirely by myself, doing everything from the
storyboarding phase to the delivery for live television.
• Chu Chu School – While working at Skoolbo, the majority of the work I created was for Skoolbo’s
partner, Chu Chu TV. Under Chu Chu's new ‘School’ branch of children's educational content, I would
be busy producing a range of videos and other assets for use on their YouTube channels and the new
Chu Chu School App, which we at Skoolbo developed ourselves. This involved working side by side
with Programmers for the first time, and we achieved some fantastic results.
• Tourism & Events Queensland – Half the work I did at Cutting Edge was for the Tourism & Events
board for the Queensland government. These would include promotional adverts, simply showcasing
the state’s beauty; event installations, such as the interactive screens for use in the Shanghai
Bellagio Hotel; and event promos, such as the Outback Masters Golf Tournament video I created.
• Flight Centre – Every fortnight or so, I would create a few new television and web advertisements for
Flight Centre, which involved a lot of editing of footage, along with bringing in their brand graphics
in a fun and creative way. I also helped them with their rebrand for these advertisements, helping
create a whole new style to their creative video output.
• Ladbrokes – I was part of the team helping Ladbrokes rebrand and redesign their television adverts.
Alongside the live-action compositor, I would help establish a new style for all the graphics, as well as
creating a template for all the graphics to easily be ingested out from, for future videos.
• Supercheap Auto – While at Cutting Edge, I created more videos for Supercheap Auto than anyone
else. Every week or so, I would receive new artwork and voiceovers, to create all their web and
television advertisements. These would centre around promoting their feature product deals, and
often allow me to get creative with how I could create the intros/outros of the advertisements.
• Cluey Learning - I was commissioned to create a 4-part animated video series for new online learning
platform, Cluey Learning. They all followed along the same sequence of problem followed by
solution, with that solution being Cluey Learning. We follow a boy and a girl character who face their
fears by being swarmed by numbers and having to answer essay questions.
• Plum - Working with new investment brand Plum, my job was to design their welcome videos for
their new customers joining. The 4-video series introduces customers to everything Plum has to offer,
and discusses both short term and long term ambitions, while helping customers plan for their
journey ahead, and ultimately their retirement.
