Profile
A UI/UX Designer and proud Minnesotan, I've spent a decade working on
projects inside and outside of companies, from small apps, to giant e-commerce
systems, to physical/digital and IoT products. I have tons of experience creating
prototypes, and working rapidly and iteratively with small teams to create new
products with a purpose.
Experience
Sr. UI/UX Designer - Relay for Driver Lead
Amazon — June 2017 - Present
Work for Amazon’s transportation system on a confidential project.
Lead UI/UX Design Target Store of The Future
Target — April 2016 - May 2017
Store of the Future was aimed at reinventing the shopping experience. Everything
from shopping carts to the app to fitting rooms was re-envisioned. My
responsibilities included taking part in the macro level service design of store areas
shopping to checkout, and the micro level UX of the in store app. I also worked with
design to develop a modular design system to speed development times.
Sr. UI/UX Design Internal Innovations & Operations (formerly RAD and E.G.I.),
Target — February 2014 - April 2016
Target’s II&O team is responsible for identifying, developing and iterating on new
business opportunities. In my role I contribute to idea validation & evaluation, user
research, design and front end coding. We've lead discovery into new shopping
methods, text based interfaces & bots, better ways to shop Back to School, IoT
fulfillment, and food delivery services; to name a few things.
Sr. Designer A/B Testing & Innovations, Best Buy — July 2011 - February 2014
My primary responsibilities were creating and executing tests, including the design
and coding for many. This entails working with teams to make test ideas suitable for
testing, as well as working with teams to find what exactly is being tested and why.
Over the course of 3 years this team lead numerous improvements to bestbuy.com,
increased revenue, and lowered the cost of running tests.

UI/UX DESIGN
Sr. Art Director Contract, Sapient Nitro — April 2010 - February 2011
Sapient|Nitro contacted me to help with the redesign of Target.com. Over the
course of nine months we created a completely new site for Target using a series of
flexible modules and templates. After the Target redesign I worked on the redesign
of StarTribune.com. As part of a two-person design team that was responsible for
completely redoing page templates and designs from Masthead to Articles to the
Section pages. This site launched in fall of 2011 to overwhelmingly positive
feedback.
UI Designer, Best Buy — February 2009 - April 2010
During my first stint at Best Buy I learned much about eCommerce design and
being a member of an in-house team. I was responsible for shepherding the Best
Buy Mobile Phones site to launch, initial work and revision on a Wordpress
implementation of the local stores pages, various small projects and designing
conceptual directions for the site and new features.
Art Director, RMG Connect — March 2006 - February 2009
While at RMG I was responsible for many projects including leading much of the
work for UnitedHealth Care and AARP, one of RMG's largest accounts worldwide.
This work gave me a deep understanding and appreciation of accessibility/usability
issues.
