Managing radio communication with vessel prior arrival to till departure; coordinating with arriving ships and neighboring jetty & traffic manning for various berths including SPM
• Monitoring the arrangements of shipping movement which includes berthing & un-berthing, shifting, warping of the vessels as well as ICGS, INS & Supply Vessels & Tugs
• Adhering to the Zero Accident Policy and ensuring marine & port safety
• Generating Port Entry & Clearance in consultation with the Finance Department for call-in & sail-out of the vessel; updating vessels ETA to all concerned from nomination to declaration and further arrival
• Executing smooth execution cargo operations through berth & bollard planning; managing operations & maintenance of Control Room Equipment and Navigational Aids (Buoys, Shore Based Lights & Transit Tower / Light)
• Providing assistance to the Pilot in smooth shipping operations by offering information on weather, vessel particulars, executing stations on Jetties and by complying and executing the given instructions
• Gathering the vessel documents & analyzing the same for insurance (P&I), class, ISSC validity and other parameters prior arrival of ships
• Ensuring the receipt of PANS 96/72 hours prior arrival or after 2 hours of departure from LPC and forwarding the same to MRCC, ISR East, Coast Guard, Navy, and so on
• Supervising the Master of MARSEC Level, watch keeping frequencies, port restrictions, port lay out, tide details, weather parameters and immigration process before the arrival of vessels
• Validating the crafts after checking validity of essential certificates; keeping a record of dredging duration of all dredgers
• Observing the weather conditions and informing all the concerned for uninterrupted vessel movement & cargo operations
• Interfacing with Marine / Coastal Police on issues for avoidance of fishing menace and other issues
