Aren D'souza

I am a dedicated and accomplished Computer Science Engineering (AIML) student with a robust portfolio of academic, research, technical, and leadership experiences. Currently pursuing my B.Tech at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, I have cultivated a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning through hands-on projects, prestigious internships, and competitive hackathons.

I have participated in global tech events such as the Intel Hackathon 2022 and Google Solutions Challenge 2024, where I demonstrated innovative problem-solving and collaboration under pressure. My research work includes multiple publications indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, IEEE, and the NASA Astrophysics Data System—notably on topics such as AI-based food grading systems, human-elephant conflict mitigation, and IoT-enabled healthcare.

My technical acumen spans Python, C++, Java, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Keras, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure. I’ve interned across dynamic roles—from an AI/ML intern at Extion Infotech to a Networking Engineer Intern at CISCO, and a Prompt Engineer at Skyhighes Technologies, where I developed and optimized models for real-world applications like recommendation systems and image classification using CNNs.

Beyond technical pursuits, I actively contribute to community and campus initiatives. As a Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) member and participant of the IIT Madras Incubation Park Build-In Club, I’ve led and collaborated on hardware-software integration projects like Micro Mouse and LED Rolling Displays. My leadership extends to serving as the Head Student Coordinator of the Journalism Club and Joint Multimedia Coordinator in AIMS, where I led promotional and outreach activities.

My extracurricular involvement includes being a base drummer in the NCC Brass Band, a Citizen Scientist with NASA, and a probationary member of K-Hacks. One of my proudest achievements is discovering a unique asteroid that passed near Earth, for which I was honored with a NASA Asteroid Preliminary Discovery Certificate.

With a continuous thirst for knowledge and a passion for applying AI to solve pressing real-world challenges, I aspire to collaborate with forward-thinking innovators and contribute meaningfully to technology and society.
