My name is Anthony Leibold. I am 33 years and currently live in Thailand. I was born and raised in France in a little town called Amnéville. After high school I decided to attend the university of Nancy2 (now called université de Lorraine). I studied English for two and a half years and then moved to Britain to work as a foreign language assistant teaching English to children of all ages.
I then decided to stay in Britain and started my own cleaning company. I worked there for eight years and got married there as well. My wife and I then decided to move on and left Britain for Thailand where we have been teaching English for nearly three years now (both online for a company called DadaABC teaching Chinese students and in a private school teaching English to children, teenagers, adults as well as business English in a working environment).
I am now fully fluent in English and have been teaching from the perspective of a former learner which gives me a considerable advantage as to what pitfalls to avoid or what the different aspects of the English language usually confuses people the most are. English is all about nuances. A simple change in intonation can drastically modify the feeling behind a sentence. The use of a certain tense can also indicate whether a person is expecting something from you or perhaps simply inquiring about yourself. These different characteristics and features are what make me feel so passionate about English.
The cultural differences between English and French (which is mother tongue) are also quite vast even though Britain and France are geographically neighbours.
This facet of the language is usually and unfortunately overlooked. Having lived in the UK for a total of eight years, I have had the chance to experience it first hand and to learn from my numerous mistakes as a young man moving to another country.
As you have probably guessed by now, I absolutely love teaching English.
I can speak other languages too such as Thai at a conversational level, Italian at a relatively conversational level too and Japanese (beginner level).
Wile living in Thailand, I had the chance to graduate from an American university based in Florida and obtain a bachelor's degree in methods of language education. I possess a TEFL and TESOL qualification as well which has helped me to hone my skills as a teacher in general.
I hope I will have a chance to teach you soon.
