Career history
Henrypage.info – Nairobi, Kenya.
Advisory Board (Volunteer Position) – May 2019 to Date
Henrypage.info is a Nairobi based start-up that seeks to change how Kenyans and indeed
East Africans access healthcare. Its vision is to position Nairobi as a regional healthcare hub
for East Africa.
Beginning May 2019, When I was retrenched from MSK I have volunteered in its advisory
board, mainly in the areas of Business Development and Fundraising.
Marie Stopes Kenya – Nairobi, Kenya.
Regional Marketing Officer – April 2016 to May 2019
Marie Stopes, is one of Kenya’s pioneer reproductive health organization. As regional
marketing manager I was in charge of marketing and communication operations across its six
channels that include outreach, Outpatient clinics and Pharmaceutical Sales.
I was also responsible for stake holder engagement, brand communication and youth
interventions.
I was key in both the development and implementation of the Future Fab Brand that has
tripled MSK’s reach since 2016.
My Key roles Involved:
Marketing and Brand Communication: Handling Publicity and Advertising including
managing media partners, analysing and monitoring current market trends in our areas
of operation to inform our communication campaigns and monitor competitor activity.
Stake holder management: Developing and maintaining mutually beneficial
partnerships with different stakeholders including NGOs, Government and other
institutional partners.
Fundraising & Business Planning: Participation in business planning including proposal
writing and application for strategic bids relevant to MSKs Mission.
Budgeting & Planning for marketing activities in the region
Key Accomplishment:
As Regional Marketing Officer at MSK, what has kept me awake is increasing the
acceptability of birth control amongst Kenyan youth/adolescent. When I joined MSK
in 2016-Our youth model was not only expensive but its interventions impacted
youth broadly, and lacked the depth to get adolescents taking up birth control.
Nevertheless, in the last 2 years we have re-engineered the model to include
partnerships for greater impact. And use of multiple communication channels.
Quite some work still needs to be done, to achieve the ultimate goal of no new
teenage pregnancies but our youth numbers have increased three fold, and our
operating costs cut considerably.
LVCT Health – Nairobi, Kenya.
Regional Marketing Officer – Oct 2013 to Oct 2015
LVCT Health is a leading Non-Governmental Organization in Kenya that responds to HIV/AIDS
and sexual reproductive health matters in the region. The organization has a business
development department that interacts with the private sector as part of its fundraising
strategy. As business development officer, I took lead in the development of the LVCT
business plan and was responsible for its execution.
LVCT Health – Nairobi, Kenya.
Program Officer PMTCT – May 2012 to Sept 2013
As Program officer, PMTCT, My Role was to strengthen a HIV response program that aimed
to reduce the rates of HIV transmission from mother to child. I worked mainly with Public
Health facilities building the capacity of their Laboratories and diagnostic systems
Responsibilities:
Developing Standard operating procedures and annual work plans for the program
Providing guidance in budget development and implementation in view of the existing
work plan
Representing LVCT in relevant forums related to provision of quality HIV diagnostic
services
Making monthly, quarterly reports, semi-annual and annual progress reports on lab
