• The Network Hub Nanaimo, Chief Motivating Officer
(2015 - present). Entrepreneurial lead for Vancouver
Island coworking spaces; and business partner for the
collective brand we specialize in brand management,
operations, systems implementation, training and events
for a growing network of coworking projects in Canada,
USA and UK.
• SOHO Summit, Co-producer (2016-present). Designing,
building and operating events for small and home office

• British Columbia Small Business Round Table Board
Member (2014 - present). Represent the tourism industry
sector & Vancouver Island to enhance business growth
and success opportunities, and provide small business
perspectives on policy development. Chaired by the Hon.
Minister for Tourism & Small Business.
• Community Futures, Loans Committee Member (2014
- 2016). Adjudicate business loans and investment to
maximize business success rates while furthering
community development goals in Central Vancouver
Island, British Columbia.

• Triptide Canada, Founder (2013 - 2015). Expedia +
Facebook meets Paypal. An online platform that exposes
local communities/businesses to global consumer markets.
Applications are developed or emerging for visitor economy
sectors including leisure travel, international education,
sports & culture, international investment and retail.
• Start Up Canada Community Enterprise Partner (2013 present). Ambassador for the Nanaimo chapter of Startup
Canada, a national non-profit network that partners with
community organizations and institutions to provide tools,
resources & networks for entrepreneurs.
• Painted Turtle Guesthouse -). Developed an
1875 heritage hotel into a boutique, international hostel and
managed all aspects of brand, property, people and
occupancy management. Business offerings included
accommodation, distinctive community programs and
events, downtown visitor information & booking services.
• Vancouver Island Economic (VIEA) Summit, Chair
Marketing Committee (2013, 2015, 2016). Developed tools
to leverage exposure and increase community engagement
in the pinnacle event on Vancouver Island where crosssector dialogue occurs to consider the future of
transportation, resource industries, First Nations
Partnerships and tourism. Plus moderator for the concurrent
session ‘Everyone Needs a Little Island Time’ on the
economic value of the CTS’s Explorer Quotient featuring
panelists from CTC, Tourism Vancouver Island and
Oceanside Tourism. Panelist for ‘MakerSpaces: growing the
new economy of creators.’
• Sustainable Cities’ Inspire Nanaimo, Committee Member
-). With natural and built environments, and
cultural, economic and social considerations as its platform,
the committee worked to develop a broad base discussion
and foundation to position Nanaimo as BC’s most
Successful City.
• Hosteling International Pacific Mountain Region Affiliate
Agreement (2012). A precedent-setting contractual
agreement between private property & business owners and
the non-profit umbrella organization to achieve mutually
beneficial, measurable outcomes in brand management,
fiscal accountability and organizational sustainability.
• Envision Nanaimo Leadership Rally (2011). Our team of
four hosted a rally to support, promote and advocate for
leadership and cange mement solutions in Nanaimo. Held
prior to a municipal election the event attracted 300+ people,
several print/TV/radio media mentions, and garnered
support from businesses, media, commerce & non-profit
sector associations.
• L’association de francophone de Nanaimo (2009).
French & English public relations consultant for three key
initiatives: i) the Bonjour Program, a strategy for attracting
French-speaking visitors to Nanaimo, ii) the Maple Sugar
Festival du sucre d'erable, iii) tourism stakeholder
negotiations and partnerships.
• Downtown Nanaimo Partnership -). Provided
business recruitment and public relations services for this
private-public initiative between the municipal government &
two Business Improvement Areas (BIA) to further the
mandate of downtown revitalization - business investment
readiness, enhancement of social well-being, attraction of
consumers, and building a vibrant, healthy and safe place
for people to live, work and play.
• BC Women’s Enterprise Centre Presenter, Mentor,
Featured Businesswoman -). Keynote
presenter for the Vancouver Island Advancing Women in
Business Seminar, the Central Island Focused Marketing
Workshop. Selected as one of eight leaders in BC to
mentor start-up entrepreneurs. Featured in New Pioneers:
Stories of 100 BC Women Entrepreneurs, a celebration of
the pioneering spirit of 100 contemporary women
entrepreneurs in BC.
• Nanaimo SuperFAM (2005). Spearheaded a SuperFAM
in collaboration with 19 local tourism operators leveraging
$25,000 of contra support to showcase the best of
Nanaimo and the region to 60+ front line tourism referral
agents from Vancouver.
• Western Australia Department of Sport & Recreation
State Sporting Facilities Plan -). A
breakthrough 10-year plan for public - private investment
in national/international standard sustainable sports
facilities through extensive stakeholder negotiations. Plan
includes compliance criteria, planning processes, asset
mapping, and an evolving schedule of new and
refurbishment projects that drive social & economic
impact for the State.
• Tracks & Trails Western Australia -). Worked
in a team to foster collaboration between local & State
government agencies & hiking, biking, equestrian and
paddling user groups to develop a state-wide recreational
trail network for recreation, conservation, education,
tourism, and preservation of trail/transport corridors.
• Western Australia Softball Association, General
Manager -). Directed State-wide operations for
a national-standard softball complex, 20 state-wide local
associations, program delivery to 5,300 members, State
Team development & travel logistics, & affiliations with the
National Association; all while turning a 7-year operating
deficit into a $80,000 profit in less than 20 months.
• Perth International Arts Festival, Business
Development Manager -). Linked the business
community with the major Arts & Cultural Festival in Perth,
WA by managing all aspects of $1.1 million in corporate
sponsorships, including sponsor relations, ticketing,
advertising/publications, corporate hospitality, reporting,
signage; as well as developed two new initiatives
(Director's Circle & Club2000) to achieve $25,000 in new
sponsorship within the first twelve months.
