Summary
Thank you for reviewing my profile, I'm glad you stopped by! My name is Andy. I'm a Ruby on Rails software engineer and
here's the skill set I can bring to your project or team:
Ruby on Rails Development - I'm equally comfortable with greenfield and legacy projects and utilize object oriented design to
product clean, reusable code.
As for experience, a partial list of tech I've worked with on past projects include Heroku, AWS, Postgres, SQL Server, Puma,
Unicorn, Devise, Pundit, Fog, Paperclip, Carrierwave, Delayed Job, Sidekiq, Geocoder, Payola, Stripe, Prawn, Kaminari,
Ransack, and a host of other gems (if it is popular, I've probably used it somewhere at least once).
Test Driven Development - I most commonly work in RSpec but can also run with some Minitest. Tools I use to round out the
test suite include Capybara, Shoulda, FactoryGirl, Selenium, Poltergeist, and VCR/WebMock.
Front End Development - I see a ton of Bootstrap on projects (usually v3 but also more v2 that you would imagine). I prefer Sass
and Less rather than pure CSS. I'm happy in Slim, Haml, or ERB and have used a whole host of JS frameworks and libraries such
as Angular, React, D3 and nodejs.
General Development - I keep everything under version control and can help set up Git workflows, deployment pipelines, and
continuous integration.
Other skills that could be handy:
Technical consultant for architecture of project : I can serve as a consultant for building structure of your project.
I'm also a damn fine party planner!
More about me:
I am currently located in the EST timezone.
I am primarily interested development projects that will challenge and expand my knowledge.
I also know that on some projects, being able to jump in and wear multiple hats can be a huge benefit. I am happy to help
however I can.
I would enjoy discussing your project / mvp / application / SaaS / hopes and dreams / etc...
In short, I care about what I build and want it to be the best it can be. Being able to talk through a feature, bug, or issue is a huge
power-up to achieving that goal.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. If you're still reading, awesome! Hit me up with a message and let's start a discussion
about what we can build together!
