I am a seasoned Chief Technology Officer, Enterprise Architect, and technologist with over 28 years of experience in the IT industry, including 18+ years in executive and senior leadership roles. I bring deep expertise across strategy, architecture, engineering, and delivery, with a career rooted in hands-on development and large-scale system design.

I currently operate as a Fractional CTO and consultant through WaveForm Technology Services, where I partner with organisations to provide CTO-level leadership, enterprise architecture, and delivery oversight. My work focuses on aligning technology with business outcomes, modernising legacy platforms, and enabling innovation through AI, cloud, and data-driven solutions.

My experience spans a wide range of industries including banking, insurance, broadcast media, government, education, NGOs, and consulting, working with both local and international organisations. I have led and scaled technology teams of over 140 people, managed complex vendor ecosystems, owned multimillion-rand budgets, and guided organisations through large-scale transformation programmes.

A significant portion of my recent work is centred on Artificial Intelligence, including conversational, generative, and agentic AI. I have designed and delivered AI-powered chatbots, voice-based AI agents, AI-assisted content and website generation platforms, and automation pipelines using tools and platforms such as GPT-4, ElevenLabs, n8n, Botpress, Flowise, Pinecone, and modern cloud-native architectures. I also have hands-on experience with blockchain and verifiable credentials, including real-world implementations.

Previously, I have held senior leadership roles such as Group CIO, Executive Head of Technology, Head of Digital Technology, and Enterprise Architect at organisations including Absa Africa, First National Bank, GBS Group, The Unlimited, DStv Digital Media, and the Government Pension Administration Authority. These roles required balancing strategic vision with operational execution, often in highly regulated, large-scale, and complex environments.
