My name is Ana Lucia and I have been working remotely since 2016. I graduated from architecture school in 2011 and got an interior design master's degree in Barcelona in 2014.
In November of 2015, being back in Mexico, I had a work accident and broke both my legs. It sounds like a tragedy but the recovery time I spent in bed and getting back on my feet, is what made it possible for me to obtain all the needed skills to create and sell iPad Stars: an online iPad video course for seniors, and start working remotely.
During this period I learned to create and manage Word Press sites using tools like LeadPages, Optimize Press and Elementor. I also learned to edit videos with Final Cut Pro, create and manage Facebook Ads, Facebook audiences, email marketing campaigns, and re-marketing campaigns. Everything from setting up a traffic ad that leads to an opt-in form and triggers an email marketing sequence.
After working on digital marketing for almost 4 years, I've learned to understand different target audiences and that for someone to buy anything, they need to connect emotionally with whatever the product represents.
Now I know how to write copy and work with elements that can make a specific audience feel related to a story and want to be part of something.
In May 2017 I came back from living 6 months in Bali and signed up for an Amazon Seller University course in Mexico City (where I was living at the time), to learn how to create listings and sell on the platform with FBA. I used external tools like Jungle Scout for product research and since then, I've listed a variety of products, some of which have done very well and are still listed. Currently, I manage the inventory and Amazon FBA takes care of the rest.
In January 2018 my family acquired a property in my home city's downtown (Campeche, Mexico) to remodel and list it as temporary accommodation for travelers. I moved back home and designed the new "43 lunas. Campeche Homestay". Our place has been running for a year now (although our social media pages are very new). Currently, I manage the listing's calendar and customer support on Airbnb and Booking.com. I follow up with our guests on WhatsApp and ask for their reviews on the booking platforms and social media.
As a side job that I like, I also manage social media for a couple of friends. You can check out @cieloyselva (a beach hotel in Punta Allen, Mexico), and @tedxmerida accounts on Instagram. I create and post content for them.
Working online has been a beautiful learning journey that I am so happy I started. I am a cheerful positive person. I love traveling and yoga, and I am into personal development too. I believe the more you give the more you get and in this life, there's plenty of everything for everyone in it to enjoy and be happy.
I'm a good communicator and working with teams comes easily. I use Asana for project management and like to break down goals into tasks lists to visualize easily everything that needs to be done. I use Dropbox, Google Drive and Google Docs/spreadsheets for shared documents and files, and Evernote as a support tool.
I use Photoshop well, design with templates on Canva and have basic knowledge of Illustrator. I create proposals and budgets using the iWork programs: Pages, Numbers, Keynote and also move well with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
I am an organized solution-oriented collaborator and I always do my best to deliver and accomplish the set goals.
