As Chief Risk Officer, I was responsible for ERM including Credit, Liquidity, Market, Operational, Regulatory
and Reputational risks for the Retail/Private Banking (UHNW/HNW, trust; real estate/Lombard/unsecured),
Wealth Management (equity, debt, funds, structured products, cash) businesses, Wholesale Banking
(corporate, financial institutional lending/correspondent banking), Trade Finance and Treasury businesses.
Approved as SMF4 by PRA/FCA under the Senior Managers’ Regime, I led a team of eight and reported
directly to the Group Chief Risk Officer. The role required me to:
• Chair All Risks Committee, be a core, voting member of ExCo, ALCo, Investment committee,
• Have full risk management and governance oversight while also being an executive on various fronts
• Oversee management of all risks; document, challenge and test key controls
• Exercise my independent delegated credit risk approval authority extensively
• Oversee Credit Risk Middle Office which includes loan documentation/administration, MIS reporting
Given the responsibility to set up a new risk function, I proactively delivered value on various fronts, including
implementation of: (i) Risk control framework; (ii) Forward-looking risk culture; (iii) Comprehensive

• Formulated the debut Underwriting Standards, the Portfolio Parameters and the Credit Risk Appetite
